Summer vacation

We were away for the first two weeks of July. We've been going to the same camp in Maine for 15 years now and still loving each and every minute of it. We've perfected the fine art of doing nothing. And that's the truth. There is the entire state of Maine at our beck and call...and we don't go anywhere!! But if you take a look at these photos you'll see why.

The dewy pix were taken from the porch of our cottage. That's right, right on the rocks on the water. The two other pix are taken from the rocks at the water's edge. The place is heaven on earth for the time we're there. We get breakfast and dinner cooked for us in the farmhouse, eating family style for these two meals.

I may not have gone anywhere for two weeks but I DID knit. Of course, no pictures to back that up, but I did! My Sockapalooza socks are about 3 inches from completion (tick...tick...) and I hope to get those done this weekend and then soaked and blocked. Also spent a LOT of time on Mystery Stole 3! I'm really enjoying it and will post a photo soon. I'm only on clue 3 but hey, it's not a contest.

Welcome home! Where in Maine? Your pics look similar to some views we see on Mt Desert. Love the idea of restful and relaxing.

And I'm still on Clue 1. So glad this isn't a contest!

Sigh...I miss going to Maine. :( I hope we can make it back there with you guys in '09 (hopefully with a wee one in tow!)

Dusa, the shots are taken in the Penobscot Bay area, near Mt. Desert. I took a blood-oath not to reveal the location!! (but I'd be happy to talk about it off-line with you!!! :-) )

I'm really liking the MS3 KAL. Problem with being back to work is that I don't have enough day-light hours to work on it and I find that it really needs my full concentration.

BTW, I read your blog regularly!!
Thanks for commenting. Cynthia

I, too, was wondering where. I miss Maine. We use to keep our boat in Portland and would try to get to Penobscot Bay at least once a year for 2 weeks. The picture at the top of my blog was taken on Penobscot Bay crossing from Muscle Ridge Channel (just south of Rockland) to Vinalhaven. We hope to get back up that way next summer. Don't worry about revealing the location to me...we stay on the boat.

Tanya, apologies for not responding to your comment. The photos were taken on Cape Rosier, and the island is Spectacle Island. What's your blog? Your message came through with only your name. Alotta

Beautiful scenery! It seems like you enjoyed your vacation, despite the rainy weather, huh? LOL
